This was my bible verse today from Bible Gateway. It was so appropriate that I had to share it!
1 Peter 1:24-25 (NIV)
(v.24) For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, (v.25) but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.
Because I love to garden, I often find myself drawing parallels in life to that of growing a garden. I can draw the same parallel with faith. Sow God’s word in to your soul, nurture it regularly with water, and then harvest the seeds you’ve planted.
We are all flowers in His garden, here for a time to do His will. Earthly things like grass, flowers, and us will surely fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever and we have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (1 Peter 1:23)
Fruitful words to dwell on as we head into the weekend. Enjoy!
