Last weekend was so beautiful, I spent the entire day outside planting bulbs and repotting my herbs so I could bring them in for the winter. Did you do some garden chores to prepare your outdoor space for winter?

Don’t have a green thumb? You can still enjoy some beautiful live flowering plants like tulips, amaryllis or lavendar.

Although I love fall, putting my yard and garden to ‘bed’ for the winter is a sad time. All the pretty colors and lush greens yield to bare browns and grays. 😦

Are any of you already craving the sun- and vitamin D-filled days? My body simply needs that to feel alive. Maybe I need to move out of Zone 4!!???

When the dulls of winter get to you, don’t forget you can force flowers indoors – it’s a great pick-me-up!

You’ve still got time to get some bulbs in the ground. The big box stores have basic bulbs like tulips, daffs and crocus. And many online retailers are clearing out their fall bulbs. Now is a great time to get them cheap!
