I love my local farmers’ market and count on it for fresh produce during the summer months since I don’t have enough sun to grow a good vegetable garden any longer. In addition to fresh veggies, our markets also have honey, home-baked goods, locally grown plants, meat, and dairy. It’s a great resource I wish we could have year-round.
Last week I got delicious lettuce and super sweet peas. Many of the cool-weather vegetables are ready now…onions, leeks, lettuce, peas and herbs. Delish!
Check out your local market and try something you’ve never had before. It’s a great way to support local business and eat more healthy with fresh, organic foods.
