Creating a simple holiday or winter garden container doesn’t have to be hard or expensive.

Spruce tips or evergreen boughs are, of course, quite a common element because they are long lasting. This time of year, you can find them at your florist, garden center, or at the local Christmas tree lot.

Also look around your yard for other natural elements like twigs, small branches, seed pods, pine cones, berries, etc. They can make a very interesting display. Arrange them in a pretty container or urn near your door to greet your holiday guests.

Here’s some tips from Birds and Blooms magazine for creating a holiday or winter garden container.  Winter Containers
